A big warm Thankyou to all the wonderful artists who responded with a "yes" to join this Secret Santa Event, while many of you say you are honoured to be asked to join, truly the honour is ours in having 92 wonderful people come together and take the time out of your busy schedules and lives to share a bit of fun and joy through your creative mediums with others over the Interwebs.

As such, we would just like to say to people wishing/asking (or some of the late artists responding to one of the 210 notes we sent out) to join our event that our participant intake has been closed for the past 3-4 days, and all Secret Santa match-up notes have been sent out. So it will not be possible to accept anymore people, we do however keep in mind those who didn't get in this time for next year instead.

How to make your Wishlist:

We at Secret-Santa2011 would like to thankyou, the artists, for joining our secret Santa this year
Now that we have received your acceptance PM, you will now need to move onto doing your wish lists! If this is your first time doing secret santa's, you might be wondering what is a wish list? In relation to a secret santa event. If you continue reading we will go through it quickly (it's not very hard, trust me.)

Everyone participating will be required to do up a wish list, a wish list at its core, is a list of things you wish for (you may have come across them while shopping on different sites before and here on deviantart). In essence a secret santa wish list will be a list of what you would like your secret santa to draw for you. It can be anything, a fanart from your favourite anime, your Original Characters, Roleplay Characters, anything you want!
All you have to do is just go into your deviantart, make a new journal and list what you would like (please also remember to link our icon in the journal!), also note, it's better to have more things on your list of what you would like drawn than just 1 or 2 things, because it gives the artist drawing for you variety, and an actual option to choose for themselves something to draw for you, and makes it easier and more fun for the artist. Because that's what Secret Santa is about, having fun and giving to others.

In your wish lists, for every character/s you wish to be drawn please remember to add in references! Nothing is harder to draw when you don't know what it exactly looks like. Couple this with any descriptions of your character/s (like age, gender, likes and dislikes and personality). The artist drawing for you might not know about your character/s or what you wish to be drawn, so the more information you give them the more likely they can produce a picture that is amazing, great and not out of character.

When you've completed your journal, you will need to send the link to us through a note, once we receive it we will place it in our Wish List displayed journal so that everyone can look up the wishlist of who they are drawing for and begin creating wonderful pieces of art for them!

**A few small rules**
This is just a few small rules to keep in mind when making your wish lists, and for the artists making the gifts.
1. Keep this PG-13 (or at least PG-15) please. This means:
NO excessive amounts of blood or gore (like internal organs sprawled all over the picture)
NO hentai/porn (be sensible, a little bit of cleavage is fine, full on breasts on display is not)
NO violence or abusive pictures.

We trust that all artists know the boundaries that are in-place when it comes to creating art for other people, and are just re-enforcing it just incase. If you are unsure of anything, just note us and we can discuss it in private.

Secret Santa Rules and Important Information:

1. Follow the deviantART terms and conditions, including their Etiquette rules.

2. Please remember the rules that were stated in the "How to make a Wish List" journal (coming soon) we are trying to keep this fairly PG-13/15.

3. Secret Santa is about giving to people, please don't start any rants or whining about the gift you were given wasn't "good enough", everyone participating put a lot of time, effort and concerns into the piece they made, and only wanted to give their best for the person they received. We have varying skill levels of artists here, so we can't measure or "match-up" those skill levels because it is randomized who you receive. Each gift is something to treasure, even more so since most of these artists do commissions and can easily get paid for an art piece, so be appreciative of what you've received please.

*When the deadline for responding to the invitation notes has passed, everyone who has joined will be matched up randomly. Everyone will be drawing a gift for someone else, no exceptions, if you don't draw for someone, you won't receive your gift.

*Being unable to complete your gift will not be looked upon well. If you are unable to complete your gift, you will not be receiving yours. We at secret santa are about giving, to everyone that has joined, and it's highly disappointing to a person when they are without a gift.

*Drawing extensions will be given, but they will only be 1 week long. These will only be given if you note us at least 1/2 weeks before the date when the gifts have to be given, and explain the situation as to why you wish to have the extension. Once this has been organized we will contact who you are drawing for (ensuring of course not to reveal your identity) and explain to them that the person drawing for them has requested the 1 week extension.

Members sign up:
Starts – Undisclosed (due to issues last year we shall not release this information)
Ends -  20th October, 2012
We at secret santa 2012 are starting artist round-up earlier, so that things can be organized at a more reasonable pace, and we can have enough time to gather people. Note that if you don't respond between these times you will be put in the "Unaccepted" pile.



Organization:  1 week
Artist Members Match-Up:
Starts –  20th October, 2012
Ends -  27th October, 2012
Notes sent out: 28th - 30th October, 2012
In the one week we will randomly match up artists for who they will draw for using an online generator. Once this is done, on the 28th till the 30th of October notes will be sent out to everyone on who you will be drawing a gift for. Make sure to keep it a secret! It's always a lovely surprise when you find out who had been drawing for you, so it's better to keep it that way!



Artist Gift Drawing period:  54 days
Starts –  31st October, 2012
Ends -  23rd – 26th  December, 2012

Extention time: 7 days
Starts: December 26, 2012
Ends: January 02, 2013
This is the period in which you work little busy little elves and get your gifts done!

*Note:  Do not leave notifying us that you need an extension till the last minute, it's unfair on us, and also unfair on the person your drawing for. We are more than fair, and will give people extensions of time if reasons have been given, we will not tolerate excuses such as "I procrastinated" or anything along those lines, those type of excuses will NOT give you the extension of time.




Delivery Time:
Starts – 24th December 2012
Ends -  26th December 2012
In this time you'll be allowed to post up on deviantart your gifts! (onto your main accounts please), after this has been done, send a wonderful note to who you drew for with a link to their gift~
When done please don't forget to link the gift to us at secret santa in a note too! We would like to Favourite it!
